Tap Director Job Duties:

Teach tap classes comprising 6 levels, beginner to advanced
17-20 hours weekly teaching during the 36-week season
Summer teaching: 12 weeks of limited weekly classes and 2 week-long intensives
Direct/oversee/support artistic and pedagogical aspects of the tap program
Choreograph original works for annual showcases
Instruct and choreograph tap (approximately 20 pieces) for Affect (competition team)
10-12 hours per week in season (Sept-Feb)
Meet with students for auditions
Attend bi-monthly meetings with the artistic director and other dance directors
Report to the artistic director and operations director
Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience:

Loves to work with children multi- ages (7+) and levels
Professional tap experience
Choreography experience
Can manage a physically demanding weekly workload
Has taught intermediate and advanced levels in tap
Possesses excellent communication skills
Has patience and a friendly, positive attitude
Is reliable and trustworthy
Able to lead a team
Shares the philosophy and values of Nolte Academy

Hours and Pay:

Full-time salaried position, 401K/health benefits option
$30,000-40,000 commensurate with experience
Weekly hours vary depending on the season
Vacation and sick days package included
Receives partial credit towards Nolte academy classes for immediate family members
