Performance Date: 12/20/14 (CALL 7:30 PM)
Costuming and Wig Provided. Must provide Black Character Shoes.
-Looking for 5 female dancers. Minor background speaking required. Ages 18-30. Must be physically fit, and capable of dancing for one hour without breaks. Dress size 2-8. CLASSICALLY TRAINED IN JAZZ OR CONTEMPORARY PREFERRED.
Performance will be for a 25th Wedding Anniversary Party. Dancers will perform roughly 15 minutes of choreographed dance routines. Dancers will also provide background for a live singer.
There will be photo and video opportunity for your portfolio.

Compensation: $235 Flat Rate for Rehearsal and Performance.

Job Summary
Under general direction, is responsible for performing recreational work, organizing, and leading participants engaged in recreational activities sponsored by the City. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.

This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Work Location
Various Locations; At the department's discretion, the work location may be subject to change. Will participate in events for programs such as, Mobile Fit and Fitness in the Park Classes.

Work Hours
Various hours Monday - Sunday. Hours will vary based on the departments needs and program events.

Essential Job Functions
Confers with participants on new activities which will motivate interest and participation.
Conducts classes in various skills/areas and to various age levels, including pre schoolers.
Designs and implements dynamic workouts.
Provides fitness motivation, encouragement, and education to all participants.
Provides exceptional customer service.
Stay knowledgeable of all current trends in fitness training and exercise science.
Develops positive relationships with participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining group fitness classes.
Acts as fitness/exercise resource person for class participants.
Works with participants to achieve fitness goals.
Assists with the marketing of the fitness/exercise programs; distributes flyers, posters, etc.
Implements one or more recreational programs.
Plans activities, presentations, and special events.
Issues and receives any apparatus and equipment used by participants, which occasionally requires lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
May be subject to traveling and working at different sites as needed, transporting supplies and equipment weighing 5 to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
Assists in maintaining attendance reports and other necessary records.
Maintains equipment and facilities.
Accompanies participants to tournaments and contest and occasionally officiates games.
Recruits and trains volunteer instructors as assigned.
Assists in planning, promoting, conducting, and overseeing recreational activities and special events for all groups of ages.
Assists with regular inventories and ensuring the adequate levels of supplies.
Performs individual fitness assessments for participants.
Assists in developing individual exercise plans for fitness program
participants.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
One (1) year of work experience in recreational activities.
Valid Class "C" Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in developing and implementing fitness initiatives.
Knowledge of trends in the fitness field. Fitness certifications/licenses.
Experience teaching Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids, Aqua Zumba, or similar.

Dorothy Keck Dancers is looking for a full or part-time ballet instructor! Must have a flexible schedule and be available evenings (4-9pm). Instructor should have previous experience working with children and a strong foundation in dance techniques and pedagogy. Experience in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Dance Team, and/or Acrobatics is beneficial.

Experience choreographing routines for a range of skill levels is essential.
