Would you like to be a part of the FIRST all-inclusive performing arts academy in Eastern North Carolina?

Washington Performing Arts (home of Le Moulin Rouge de Danse, Inc.), located 20 miles east of Greenville, is seeking instructors in the following areas:

Dance (3yrs – 12th grade):
Children’s Ballet (Ages 3 – 3rd grade)
Children’s Tap (Ages 3 – 3rd grade)
Children’s Jazz (Ages 3 – 3rd grade)
Rhythmics/Improvisation (Dance Discovery program for early learners aged 2-4 yrs.)

Instruction:
Our instructors are compensated on a percentage basis providing the ability to successfully continue their own studies and performance rehearsal schedules without interference. This model also offers our students the ability to gain knowledge from multiple sources.

Percentages are per student; therefore, the more you teach and the more students you teach, the more compensation is available. On average, teachers earn $30 per teaching hour (given a 10-student per class ratio) in dance and musical theatre classes.

Job Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching young dancers in a studio or academy setting; experience teaching pre-school aged students required.
• Ability to verbally explain and physically demonstrate techniques and methods of dance movement using age-appropriate terminology and guidance
• Ability to develop and execute class plans to develop multiple dance proficiencies and skill levels
• Ability to prepare students to participate in an annual performance with age-appropriate choreography
• Professional communication with parents, fellow instructors, and director as required
• Work with faculty to organize performances and other events
• Attend faculty meetings, performances, and other events that may be organized during the season
• Be dependable and professional at all times
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite is an asset
